Had a good day at Elora quarry? On calm evenings, hot air balloon
flights leave from nearby Bissell Park in Elora. The Grand River
is just behind the balloon, which is spread out on the ground, waiting to be
inflated. Where is Bissell Park?

|
Where's the hot air balloon? Are we supposed to go up in the air in that thing?! |
|
|
There are early morning hot air balloon rides, too. A great
adventure, to go for a hot air balloon trip as the sun rises! You'll
be looking down on treetops, church steeples, farmers' fields...
You'll drift along in stillness--the quiet of a small Ontario town
in the early morning--punctuated by
the occasional blasts from the propane burners adding
some hot air to the balloon.

The process begins. Before hot
air can be put into the balloon, it has to be partially inflated
by a powerful fan. |

The powerful fan (located in front of the basket) pushes
air into the balloon. This is not just any old electric fan
to cool your office on a hot day. Notice the gasoline motor
that powers this fan! |
